Answer:

— As a student, yes I do believe because God knows everything we are going through at this very moment and everything we will go through in the future. He knows the best way to handle every situation so we get the best possible outcome and we need to trust him with that. We need to follow his path and trust that he knows best, because he does.

— The creed is the rule of faith for the Christian life. It supplies a map that lays out the fundamental contours of how the Christian thinks about God and the history of salvation. This map of belief synthesizes the Christian faith and prevents the believer from taking a wrong turn and getting lost.

— By attending to the mass and listening to the gospel of the Lord, and praying. In this way, the followers of religion can be guided on how to implement the beliefs in their lives.

Answer:

why do Catholics pray the creed

The Creed is a summary of the Christian faith and expresses the central truths that the members of the Catholic Church believe.

The YouCat describes a creed as a ‘bried formula of faith that makes it possible for all believers to make a common profession’ (YouCat 26).

The two most used creeds of the Catholic Church are the Nicene Creed and the Apostle’s Creed. In Mass, we pray the Nicene Creed, which was written during two of the great councils of the Church, Nicacea in 325 A.D. and Constantinople in 381 A.D. It’s the Church’s way of briefly summarizing the most important truths of the faith.

22. Apostles creed and nicene creed side by side

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

28. It refers to the ethical values and the system of moral practice directly resulting from an adherence to the beliefs *A. CodeB. CultC. CreedD. Christian

The ethical values and the system of moral practice resulting from beliefs are called a A. Code.

Codes are a set of rules and guidelines that followers of a certain belief system must follow. These set of rules usually manifest in what is considered permissible, prohibited, bad, and good. For example in the religion of Christianity polygamy is prohibited, drinking alcohol is allowed, and premarital sex is considered bad while the heterosexual marital union is good.

In other religions like Judaism, some branches allow for divorce, premarital sex is also prohibited, compassion for others is good and destruction of the environment is bad.

People who grew up in the religion they are in and even if they consider themselves not part of that religion anymore tend to internalize the code of that religion subconsciously. The more you gain knowledge of the different codes of different religions the more you will realize the social and arbitrary nature of it. When a person internalizes a religion’s code there’s a tendency to assume that such morality and practices are universal when it is not.

While Code is the rules and guidelines, Creed on the other hand is the accepted truth of a certain belief system. For example, the Roman Catholic creed includes Jesus as the Son of God that has come to Earth to cleanse us of our sin. For Muslims, it is Muhammad who is the Last Prophet of God.

Cult, in its contemporary meaning, is defined as “a group or movement held together by a shared commitment to a charismatic leader or ideology. It has a belief system that has the answers to all of life’s questions and offers a special solution to be gained only by following the leader’s rules.”

This definition comes from Holly Meyer’s article What makes a cult a cult? Contemporary cults are usually characterized by their excessive worship and belief that the public considers out of the ordinary or straight-up delusional. Cults also tend to have an authoritative power structure and restrictive codes.
